Sound Flowers, Kinetic Sound Installation (2007)

material: wood, jasmonite, custom sound mechanism

dimensions: variable

This project is a kinetic, interactive sound installation deriving from my reminiscence of Scandinavian landscape in the winter, filled with simple monochromatic beauty, sharp sounds and noises. A custom sound making mechanism is mounted inside the bottom part of each object, and makes sound when the flower swings. The sounds produced have different pitch, color, quality and intensity. Together, they generate an inimitable sound pattern.
