25 35: self-portrait, Digital Drawing Series (1998, 2008)

In this drawing series, I drew a circle for every month of my life starting with a diameter of 1 cm for my first year and adding 1 cm with every consecutive year so the circles' diameters corresponded to my age. The scale of the drawings mirrors my body measurements, 167 cm (my height) and 95 cm (girth of my hips). To draw the circles, I chose a red color which I have associated with my first name, Petra, since my childhood. The location of the circles on the paper is not random but follows a special pattern I invented to document my life.
